If you are thinking of proposing this Valentine's Day and need some help with finding the perfect ring, then we are more than happy to help! With there being so many rings available, it can sometimes feel like you don't know where to start. We've put together a few tips for you on how to find the right ring that will surely seal the deal when you go down on one knee.

What Style?
When it comes to the style of the ring you may not know where to start. We'd advise you to look at her day to day jewellery that she wears as it will give you a guide into what metal colour and style that she likes. For example, if she wears silver dress jewellery she is more than likely going to want a white gold or platinum engagement ring. But, if you're really not sure, ask her friends and family, she will surely have talked to them about it and maybe dropped a couple of hints that can help you.

Diamond Quality
When it comes to diamonds you need to consider the 4 C's: cut, colour, carat and clarity with cut being the most important factor as it has the biggest effect on a diamond's sparkle. After the sparkle, the next thing you'll notice is the colour, then the carat that refers to the diamond weight and clarity which will give you an idea of how flawless a diamond is. If you want to read more about what you need to look for, we have got a more in-depth guide in a blog post that tells you everything you need to know here.

Diamond Shape
When it comes to the shape of the diamond, it is completely down to the style of your other half and what you think they'll like the best. If you are looking for something classic then you could go for a princess cut ring as they are always a popular style. Maybe she's into more of a vintage style? Then an emerald cut ring could be what you're looking for. Or if you're looking for something quite girly, you can browse our heart, oval and cushion shaped rings. Or if you are looking for a style that's currently on trend, it would be worth taking a look at pear and marquise shaped rings.

What About Ring Size?
If you're unsure on what ring size your future wife is, try to sneak one of her rings to a jeweller's to check the ring size if possible. This will help guide you and an assistant in the store may be able to give you an approximate size too if the ring you take in isn't worn on her ring finger. When searching online for tips on how to find out a ring size, you may find tips like using a piece of string or a piece of paper around a finger but this is not a very accurate way of doing it and we wouldn't recommend it plus, it also removes the element of surprise.
If you do find a ring on our website that you think is perfect but it isn't the right size, it's always best to ring up and check if it can be sized, more often than not it can be but we'd rather you check! We usually quote 7 working days for any work to be done so make sure you place your under in plenty of time before you are planning to propose.
