This year’s Academy Awards took place on Sunday and saw countless incredibly talented actors, producers, directors, writers, designers, animators and those of many other creative talents come together under one roof to be honoured for their hard work in the film industry.

As always, the glamorous outfits took our breath away. We were awed by suave suits and shimmering gowns but we were, of course, mainly mesmerized by the jewellery. Diamonds featured heavily at this year’s ceremony but we can understand that. Diamonds are, of course, forever – and so are Oscars.

Nicole Kidman dazzled us in a diamond encrusted bracelet set in platinum. She was also sparkling in one of the many pairs of amazing earrings – cluster diamond chandeliers.

Everywhere we looked there seemed to be a pair of magnificent glittering earrings, and Mary J Blige’s huge diamond chandeliers definitely stole the show. We were almost blinded by the statement pair and, combined with her fabulous pearl embellished dress, she looked incredible.

Emma Stone, however, opted for a more subtle look with a pair of lovely vintage art deco earrings. Similarly, Saoirse Ronan wore a pair of elegant diamond drop earrings. These styles added just a touch of glitter to already beautiful outfits.

Lupita Nyong’o wore a pair of exquisite white gold and diamond earrings. But everything about Lupita was exquisite as always. She wowed in a sparkling, one-shouldered gold dress with a glittering black sash. And she was also wearing three rings in yellow and rose gold, decorated with diamonds.

Winner of the Best Supporting Actress award, Allison Janney also sparkled in diamonds with a diamond choker-style necklace set in platinum.

William May has a huge selection of diamonds perfect for everything from the red carpet to a day at the office. Choose your forever diamond here.

There were some flashes of colour amidst the sparkles on Sunday. And despite the sea of green and emeralds at this year’s Golden Globes, 2018’s Oscars, although predominantly diamonds, had a hint of blue.

Gal Gadot stunned in a beautiful aquamarine necklace by Tiffany. Despite being an April baby, Gal chose to wear March’s birthstone of serenity and don a dazzling drop necklace studded with the aqua stone.

She wasn’t the only one to wear blue accessories. Helen Mirren looked like royalty in an incredible sapphire and diamond encrusted necklace with matching earrings.

And Jennifer Garner was a vision in royal blue in a fabulous Grecian-style dress. She wore white gold earrings studded with diamonds and sapphires and two sparkling rings. One of the rings matched her earrings and the other was coated in glittering white diamonds.

Aquamarine and sapphires have always been favourites of ours. Blue is the colour of tranquillity after all.

And we simply can’t forget about the men, especially with this year’s dapper nominees. There were a number of incredibly stylish watches being worn by the stars this year.

A plethora of the nominees wore IWC Schaffhausen including Richard Jenkins and Willem Dafoe and Timothee Chalamet (nominated for Call Me by Your Name) looked very fashionable in a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.
