So you’re going on holiday…we’re envious! There is something special about the feeling that summer exudes, though sometimes it’s easy to forget what season we’re in in England; however, we’re just a hop skip and a flight away from the most beautiful holiday spots in the world. Whether you’re packing for an adventure through the colourful bazaars of Marrakech or for a bit of rest and relaxation on the glistening beaches of Portugal’s Algarve, jewellery always seems to take a back seat when it comes to the essentials. Partly because it can be so exhausting figuring out how not to end up with a ball of mess upon arrival, but knowing exactly what to pack to go with what outfit can be a challenge in of itself.
There are certain pieces, especially when flying, that should be steered clear of. Anything clingy or chunky can stay back at home. If the thought of wearing tight trousers in 30 degree weather makes you cringe then these, otherwise great, accessories will definitely be a nuisance. I wear my rings every-day, even sleeping with them on, however, when I’m jetting away I take them right off. I’ve made that mistake before, and it’s never fun having puffy hands with tiny rings. Right before take-off make sure to slip off those smaller bits that are often overlooked, but don’t leave them behind. Rings are an easy way to add to any outfit and usually don’t get in the way.
