Celebrities like sports stars and movie icons influence the way we dress and accessorise. However, because many of their fashion choices cost thousands of pounds, it can feel impossible to replicate the look on a budget.

However, here at William May, our appraisers have valued the jewellery choices of 15 of our favourite celebrities. In doing so, they’ve also outlined how you can ‘get the look’ for less thanks to our reasonably-priced alternatives.

Lewis Hamilton’s layered gold chains are highly stylish. For this look, he’s combined three different chains to create layers and texture. Layering like this comes at a cost though. We estimate he’s spent around £2,700 on the set of chains.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Pre-owned 9CT yellow and white gold 16” Figaro chain necklace (£225)

Neymar Junior

Neymar’s football skills may be flashy, but his jewellery choices are even flashier. These 18CT diamond studs certainly catch the eye, and we estimate that they probably cost £2,500-£2,900 each depending on the clarity and size of the diamonds. This means he probably paid around £5,500 for the pair.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: New 18CT white gold 1.50CT princess cut diamond stud earrings (£2,225)

Serena Williams

For many of us, Serena Williams is both a sporting hero and a style icon. Her gemstone-studded identity bracelet is effortlessly cool and pairs beautifully with almost any outfit. We think hers cost £700-£900, but you can create the same look for much less.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Pre-owned 9CT gold gemstone set identity bar curb bracelet (£525)

Dina Asher-Smith

Dina Asher-Smith is a powerful role model for young women. Her gold-plated coin pendant necklace probably cost around £300, but we think you can create the same look for under £200.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: New 18CT yellow gold diamond set disc pendant and chain necklace (£395)

Roger Federer

Federer has won 20 men’s Grand Slam titles and in each trophy presentation ceremony he’s worn an iconic watch. This Rolex timepiece is one of his best but the price tag reflects that. We think it cost around £11,850.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Rolex Datejust 16233 (£5,395)

Royals

Kate Middleton

Since she joined the royal family, we’ve all been obsessed with Kate Middleton’s style and fashion choices.

This necklace choice is minimalist and classic. Although we think it would only be priced at £300-£400 in retail stores, our ‘get the look’ selection will save you even more.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: New 9CT yellow gold small double disk chain necklace (£185)

HRM The Queen

The Queen’s pearls are a timeless and iconic fashion choice. Unfortunately for us, a royal budget is required to buy jewellery like this. Although the necklace is difficult to value, we think it would cost in excess of £15,000.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Try our pearl earrings, bracelets and brooches.

Princess Anne

Princess Anne’s jewellery choices are slightly more understated than Queen Elizabeth’s, but this gold brooch is a great example of how jewellery can add a pop of colour to any outfit.

Brooches are usually hollow so they don’t ruin the clothes they’re pinned to, so we think this brooch would retail for around £400-£500 depending on the retailer and brand.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Pre-owned 9CT yellow gold fancy wave twist brooch (£105)

Prince William

Here, Prince William’s wearing a classic Omega Seamaster that suits any occasion. Sadly though, a luxury timepiece like this does come with a royal price tag. Depending on the exact model and specifications, this watch would probably retail for £4,450+.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Keep an eye out for the latest Omega deals

Princess Eugenie

If you’re a member of the royal family like Princess Eugenie, it’s easy to feel like a princess on your wedding day. The elegant and opulent jewellery on display here really is stunning and we think the tiara alone could retail for as much as £10 million due to its history.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Sadly, this item really is one of a kind.

TV & Film

Margot Robbie

Ever since she shot to fame in The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie has been a style icon. The rings she’s wearing in this photo may be pieces of costume jewellery, but since she’s a Hollywood legend, let’s assume they’re all made from real diamonds and gold. If so, we think the five rings on display would cost around £2,550.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Mix and match these two-stone rings.

Kim Kardashian is known for her extravagant style choices. However, some of her looks aren’t as outlandish as they appear. For example, these earrings are hollow, so we think they’d only cost £500-£600.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Get the Kardashian look for even less with our gold hoop earrings

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron turned heads during awards season by teaming this classic black dress with a beautiful diamond necklace. It’s no wonder the look turned so many heads, too. After all, we think the necklace alone is worth £5 million.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Sadly, this item really is one of a kind

Michael B. Jordan

Michael B. Jordan is often voted as one of the world’s most stylish men. This 18” curb chain in gold is a great example of his minimalist aesthetic but, although it looks simple and understated, it would likely cost in excess of £1,200.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Pre-owned 9CT yellow gold 18 inch curb chain necklace (£515)

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey’s rings are simple and stylish. They can also help you complete a look that doesn’t break the bank, too. We think each ring would cost between £75 and £150.

Our ‘get the look’ alternative: Take a look at our second-hand rings
